Synergy of the Ministry of Public Works and Bgn Pace for the Development of Thousands of Nutrition Kitchen for the MBG Program
Strategic cooperation between the Ministry of Public Works (Public Works) and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is officially established to realize the development of thousands of Nutrition Services Unit (SPPG) throughout Indonesia. This collaboration is the backbone of infrastructure to succeed the priority program for free nutritious eating (MBG) which targets tens of millions of beneficiaries.
The synergy between this institution was confirmed through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) at the Ministry of Public Works Hall, Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/8).
This step marks the start of a massive scale social infrastructure development project, with the Ministry of Public Works as the executor of physical development and BGN as a determinant of strategic location.

Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, stated that this project will adopt a proven effective work model from the previous program.
“This is the beginning of a big step going forward, such as our experience in helping the Ministry of Social Affairs formulating the People’s School (SR). I have instructed the team at the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure to imitate the same approach,” said Minister Dody Hanggodo.
The approach, he continued, includes intensive coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs and regional heads to accelerate land supply. “Our target is 1,000 locations (initial stages), and the auction process until the implementation of physical development will start soon after that,” said Dody Hanggodo.
In terms of economy and target scale, this project has a very large scope. The Head of BGN, Dadan Hidayana, explained that this collaboration was very crucial to cover the existing gap. At present, of the 3,233 SPPG that have served 8.2 million people, there are still 12 districts/cities that do not yet have similar facilities.
“With the help of the Ministry of Public Works, I am sure our work will be lighter and the president’s target can be achieved,” said Dadan Hidayana.
BGN itself is targeting a total development of 25,000 SPPG in the agglomeration area and 6,000 other units in the 3T region (disadvantaged, foremost, and outermost). This figure is needed to serve the targets of MBG program beneficiaries that are projected to reach 82.9 million people at the end of November to early December.
