BRI Finance Collaborates with PON Hospital, Increases Workers’ Awareness of Stroke & Influenza

Jakarta, 24 October 2025 – As part of its commitment to creating a healthy, productive and sustainable work environment, PT BRI Multifinance Indonesia (“BRI Finance”) in collaboration with the National Brain Center Hospital (“PON Hospital”) held an outreach activity on the Prevention and Treatment of Stroke and Influenza Vaccination at the BRILiaN Tower, Jakarta. The activity which took place on Friday (24/10) was attended by all head office workers along with the BRI Finance Board of Directors with a total of 270 participants.

On this occasion, Dr. Sardiana Salam, Sp.S, M.Kes, as Director of Operational Services at PON Hospital, was present as the main resource person who provided comprehensive education regarding the importance of maintaining brain health and recognizing symptoms and risk factors for stroke early on. Stroke is still one of the main causes of death and disability in Indonesia. Based on the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) released by the Indonesian Ministry of Health (“Kemenkes”), the national prevalence of stroke was recorded at 8.3 per 1,000 population. The Ministry of Health emphasized that the majority of stroke cases can actually be prevented by controlling risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking habits and lack of physical activity. Therefore, education and early detection are important steps to reduce the incidence of stroke in society.

Awareness of brain health and an active lifestyle is becoming increasingly relevant in the modern work environment, especially for office workers who often face pressure, stress and minimal physical activity. Through this activity, BRI Finance invites all BRILiaN BRI Finance people to build healthy and balanced living habits as a form of long-term investment for productivity. One of the sessions that participants are most interested in is Brain Exercise, a series of simple movements that are useful for stimulating cognitive functions, increasing concentration and improving blood flow to the brain, thereby helping maintain focus and daily work performance.

Apart from education and physical activity, this activity also provides a mass influenza vaccination program for all participants as well as stroke risk screening for 26 workers who meet certain criteria, such as being over 45 years old or having a history of non-communicable diseases. This vaccination program is a concrete manifestation of BRI Finance’s commitment to maintaining the health and productivity of workers against seasonal diseases.

The President Director of BRI Finance, Wahyudi Darmawan, said that this activity was a concrete manifestation of the application of Employee Well-Being principles in the company’s work culture. Wahyudi said, “We believe that business success is not only measured by financial performance, but also by the extent to which the company is able to maintain the health, happiness and welfare of its employees. Through collaboration with PON Hospital, we want to increase awareness that disease prevention must start from oneself and the work environment. Employees who are physically and mentally healthy will be the foundation for the company’s sustainability and growth.”

Through collaboration with PON Hospital, BRI Finance shows the active role of the corporate sector in supporting the national campaign to prevent non-communicable diseases and vaccination. The company is committed to continuing to present various promotive and preventive programs that not only have an impact on individual health, but also on increasing productivity and collective welfare of all BRI Finance people. “We hope that this activity does not stop here, but becomes a new culture that takes root in our work environment, that maintaining health is a shared responsibility,” added Wahyudi.
