KAI Divre III Palembang reminds the provisions of the maximum passenger baggage of 20 kg

Palembang, July 25, 2025 – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division III Palembang reminded all customers to comply with the provisions regarding the maximum luggage limit allowed to be brought into the train, which weighing 20 kilograms.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Divre III Palembang, Aida Suryanti, explained that this provision had long been established and not a new rule. “We appeal to customers to pay attention to the maximum luggage limit that has been set is 20 kilograms with a maximum volume of 100 dm³ or a maximum dimension of 70 x 48 x 30 cm and as much as possible consist of four luggage items. This is important so as not to disturb the comfort of other passengers and maintain security in the train car,” said Aida.

Officers at the station are also entitled to take action if luggage is found that exceeds the limit or contains forbidden items. Aida conveyed to customers whose luggage exceeded these provisions, then it would be subject to Rp10,000/kg for executive class, Rp6,000/kg for business class, and Rp2,000/kg for economy class

Aida also appealed to passengers not to carry luggage that are not allowed to be carried in the trunk of the train, including animals, narcotics, psychotropic and other addictive substances, sharp weapons, and flammable objects. In addition, objects that smell foul/fishy or objects that because of their nature can interfere/damage health and disturb the comfort of other passengers, goods that are prohibited by legislation and other goods which according to the consideration of boarding officers are not in accordance with the provisions transported as luggage because the circumstances and magnitude are not in accordance with the rules. “
