Running for the RMHC Foundation: 22 Runners Ready to Bring the Mission of the Indonesian RMHC Foundation to the World Marathon Majors 2025

As part of its commitment in supporting the health of Indonesian children, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Foundation (RMHC Foundation) Indonesia officially announced their participation at the World Marathon Majors 2025. The participation of the RMHC Foundation is present through 22 Indonesian runners who will run in the World Marathon Majors 2025 Valencia. The runners were present carrying a humanitarian mission to increase awareness and concern about the importance of a halfway house for pediatric patients and their families, as well as raising funds for the construction of the 4th RMHC Foundation in Jakarta.

Caroline Djajadiningrat, Chairperson of the RMHC Indonesia Foundation, stated, “We believe that every step taken by our runners at the World Marathon Majors is a symbol of steps towards a better future for Indonesian children. Through sports, we want to share messages about the importance of togetherness, empathy, and support for families who are facing difficult times.”

Funds collected through this campaign will be used to support the construction of the 4th RMHC Foundation which is located in Kemanggisan, West Jakarta. This house will be equipped with 66 rooms and is designed to be a temporary residence for the family of pediatric patients who are referred to our Harapan Harapan Hospital (RSJPD Harapan Kita), Child Hospital Mother of Harapan Kita (RSAB Harapan Kita), and Dharmais Cancer Hospital (Dharmais Hospital).

Medical facts show that during 2022-2023, more than 9,000 children with congenital heart disease were treated at Harapan Kita Heart Hospital, with 91% of patients from outside Java. Many of them come from remote areas with great hopes, but without a place to live during the treatment period, they are forced to sleep in the hallway of the hospital or musala, so that the existence of a halfway house is very important.

Children who are seriously sick need the presence of their parents, not just as a companion, but as a source of strength. Without a decent shelter, recovery becomes much more severe for children, and their families. Through collaboration with Perki (Indonesian Cardiovascular Specialist Association), the RMHC Foundation continues to answer this need by providing comfortable, feasible, and closer facilities with their children during the recovery period.

Sheryl Sheinafia, musician and participant of the World Marathon Majors 2025 Chicago, said “I run at the Chicago Marathon not only for personal challenges, but for a far greater purpose in building the 4th RMHC Foundation in Kemanggisan. Because I believe, every sick child has the right to be accompanied by his family.

Mohammad Daffa Wardana, Public Figure and World Marathon Majors 2025 Sydney Participants, said “My participation at the World Marathon Majors 2025 symbolizes a form of my concern for the mission of humanity to increase awareness of the importance of the Child Patients, therefore I am present at the World Marathon Majors 2025 The 4th RMHC Foundation stopped in Kemanggisan, to create space full of hope and affection for children who were struggling against disease. “

The participation of the RMHC Indonesia Foundation in the World Marathon Majors is also a medium to tell the story and struggle of pediatric patients to the global community. The RMHC Foundation invites the public to not only support from the financial side, but also becomes part of this humanitarian movement both as runners, volunteers, and positive messages spreaders. Let’s be with the RMHC Foundation, we run for hope, for the family, and for every child who is struggling to recover.
