Ministry of BUMN Holds Digital Communication Workshop
Balikpapan, July 19, 2025 – The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) held AI Communication and Optimization Workshop on July 17-18 2025 in Swiss-Belhotel, Balikpapan. This activity was attended by more than 100 participants from various SOEs, consisting of company communication practitioners, and regional leaders. This workshop aims to strengthen the function of corporate communication and optimize the use of artificial intelligence technology (AI) in the dissemination of positive, strategic, and broad impact on the digital era.
As an opening resource, a spokesman for the Ministry of SOEs, Putri Violla, said that communication in the era of information disclosure demanded an adaptive and collaborative approach, not only from institutions, but also from individuals within the company. According to him, employees have great potential to become a company ambassador in voicing the achievement and contribution of BUMN to the public more humanist and relevant.
“In the midst of the swift information at this time, the power of communication not only lies in the institutional strategy, but also on individual strength. Employees are the most authentic BUMN faces. With digital communication skills and technological use such as AI, they are able to become a joint message that has a broad impact in the community,” said Putri Violla.
This workshop presents various speakers who discuss communication strategies from practical and technology perspectives. Also present was Teuku Gandawan Xasir who discussed the introduction and use of AI in digital communication strategies. The material was then continued by Reynaldi Francois, CEO of Zando Agency as well as Co-Founder ACICO Community, which provided technical training on making AI-based social media accounts and content.
I Gede Suhendra, Head of Department of Corporate Communication IFG, highlighted the importance of the active involvement of employees in building the company’s image. In his session, he explained how the optimization of employee engagement through social media can strengthen employee branding, expand the reach of company communication, and create stronger emotional relationships between companies and the public.
On the second day, participants were invited to make a field visit to three strategic assets of SOEs in the East Kalimantan region. Among other things, the VVIP IKN Airport which was built by PT PP (Persero) Tbk on the scope Airside and Hutama Karya in the scope LandsideASN flats carried out by PT PP (Persero) Tbk, and Balikpapan BUMN House. This activity is designed as a means of direct practice for participants to convey national development by BUMN, with a creative and oriented approach to digital public.
This workshop is not only a place for strengthening the communication capacity of BUMN people, but also becomes a tangible manifestation of the contribution of BUMN in supporting the vision of national development through the Asta Cita President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto. Through the use of communication technology and adaptive human resource empowerment, BUMN also strengthens the national economic resilience based on technology and information excellence.
Strong, strategic and comprehensive communication will be a bridge that connects the ideals of development with public understanding. The big narrative of the nation will not be only through infrastructure and numbers, but through stories that are told inspiring by the development actors themselves-in this case, BUMN employees who are ready to become ambassadors of communication on the world digital stage.
