Customer Confidence Strengthens, KAI Logistics Container Transport Grows 8%

PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik) recorded container transportation volume growth of 8% throughout 2025, from 2.3 million tons to 2.5 million tons. This achievement reflects the increasing trust of customers in KAI Logistik’s container transportation services, which is one of the services in the KALOG Plus segment as a reliable, timely and efficient large-scale goods distribution solution.

KAI Logistik’s Commercial Director, Fahdel Akbar, said “This positive performance is getting stronger in the fourth quarter of 2025. In this period, container transportation volume grew by around 17% or reached more than 701 thousand tons, higher than the average of the previous three quarters which was around 600 thousand tons. This trend shows a consistent increase in demand as well as customer confidence in the quality of KAI Logistik’s services.”

The increase in volume throughout 2025 is driven by various steps to optimize container transportation services. One of them is reflected in the increase in volume in the reefer transportation segment, which confirms customer trust in the rail mode as a distribution solution for fresh and perishable products. The growth of container transportation is also supported by infrastructure development and increased operational capacity, including through capacity increases Container Yard (CY) Klari which is capable of serving additional volumes of up to ±1,360 TEUs per month, developing the Ronggowarsito area, as well as increasing transport capacity through the operation of the KALOG 3 train.

In line with improving services, KAI Logistics has also expanded halal certification to the Ronggowarsito Terminal, completing the three certified points, namely the Sungai Lagoa, Klari and Kalimas Area Goods Terminals. The addition of halal certified service points provides a guarantee of sharia compliance for customers, especially in the halal industrial sector such as food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other products. Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).

In terms of customer composition, container transportation is supported by various industrial sectors. Company forwarding is still the main contributor with a share of around 85%, in line with the increasing need for cargo consolidation and distribution between regions. The FMCG sector contributed around 11%, driven by stable and sustainable distribution demand. As for sectors delivery and shipping logistics contributed around 4%.

In line with business growth, KAI Logistics also strengthens its commitment to green logistics through various sustainable innovations. “Our commitment to green logistics not only on the initiative to include emissions information in invoice customer. “We have gone further by strengthening our commitment through calculating Tier 3 Greenhouse Gas emissions and reporting emissions according to ISO 14083 standards. KAI Logistik is a pioneer in implementing this in the railway logistics sector,” stressed Fahdel.
