KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is again a reference for benchmarking postgraduate students in place based learning


Jakarta, 6 October 2025 – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area 1 Jakarta has once again become the destination for study visits and benchmarking from academic circles. This time, Bandar Lampung University (UBL) Postgraduate Program students carried out benchmarking activities in the Batavia Room, Daop 1 Jakarta Office, Jalan Pegangsaan Timur no. 15-16, Cikini, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/10).

This activity was attended by Daop 1 Jakarta Goods Transportation Manager Zaini, as a representative of the management of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta followed by Senior Legal Specialist Bernis Dwi Mubaroq, Assistant Manager for External Public Relations Tohari, as well as other Daop 1 internal staff. From the campus, the Bandar Lampung University Postgraduate Program Transport Planning Lecturer, Aditya Mahatidanar Hidayat, along with staff and 25 UBL Postgraduate Program students were present.

In his speech, Aditya Mahatidanar Hidayat said that this visit aimed to increase students’ insight and knowledge regarding managerial, administrative, engineering, information technology, public transportation law, as well as aspects of consumer protection within PT KAI (Persero), especially Daop 1 Jakarta.

> “This activity is part of the implementation of place-based learning so that students can directly understand best practices in managing public transportation,” he said.

Responding to this, the Jakarta Daop 1 Goods Transport Manager, Zaini, appreciated the initiative of Bandar Lampung University which had made KAI a field learning partner.

> “We welcome activities like this because they can strengthen collaboration between the academic world and industry, especially in developing human resources who understand modern public transportation governance,” said Zaini.

Apart from delivering material regarding management of goods and passenger transportation, participants also listened to the Safety Induction and Company Profile Daop 1 Jakarta videos. The event continued with a discussion session, question and answer session, as well as friendly gatherings and group photos.

On the same occasion, Assistant Manager for External Public Relations for Daop 1 Jakarta, Tohari, also invited all transportation personnel to take an active role in spreading safety awareness, especially at railway level crossings.

> “Safety is a shared responsibility. We invite the public to always be disciplined in traffic and comply with statutory regulations, both those contained in Law Number 23 of 2007 concerning Railways, and Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation,” stressed Tohari.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Ixfan Hendriwintoko, added that his party is committed to continuing to open spaces for collaboration with the world of education, both in the form of academic visits and research activities.

> “KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is open to various forms of educational collaboration. We hope that this benchmarking activity can be a means of sharing knowledge and introducing best practices in the implementation of public transportation based on service, safety and innovation,” said Ixfan.

Through this activity, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has once again demonstrated its role as the main reference for learning and practice of public transportation management in Indonesia, as well as a concrete manifestation of synergy between the academic world and the national transportation industry.
