Media X Space Occupies Public Space For Asian Design and Art
Kuala Lumpur – The conclusion of the Media It is a reflection on how new media art can become a space for humans to “appear” collectively again in front of the public.
This exhibition, which displays the work of the public, BINUS students and lecturers, as well as international artists, was born from a cross-disciplinary collaboration between the School of Design, Graphic Design and New Media (International Program), Master of Design, BINUS University together with ARCOLABS and Filamen Gallery, Malaysia. This synergy brings together artists from Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea and the UK in an effort to break down the deadlock of digital communication which often feels cold and technical.
“Our hope is that, amidst the siege of automated technology, the Media Illumination, when giving a speech in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 22 2025. “Thank you to all the people who have participated and contributed to witnessing the collective movement of design and art, in an effort to build a world that is at least more bearable for all,” he said again, in closing the opening ceremony.
Even though the exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has ended, the existence of this collaboration is still maintained in virtual space that transcends geographical boundaries. The public can still access and reflect on the works on display via the official website sod.binus.ac.id/mediaxspaceexhibition2025. This online access is to ensure that works can continue to be accessed by the public, but also as a means of documenting exhibition works that are full of contemporary cross-Asian community thoughts, in the context of expanding knowledge.
