Sea guard commitment, mind id integrates a sustainable program

As a maritime country, Indonesia has a huge sea potential, which is a strategic space for national mining industry activities. In the spirit of downstreaming the government launched, the holding of the Indonesian Mining Industry Mind ID took the role of an economic driver who still maintains harmony with the environment, especially marine ecosystems.

Mind ID integrates group members to optimize the use of marine space as part of the operational area of ​​the mining and logistics industry, while continuing to run ecological recovery programs to maintain the sustainability of the flora ecosystem and marine fauna.

Director of Mind ID Maroef Sjamsoeddin said that as a strategic holding that, the Mind ID group is committed not only to use the sea area as part of the operation of the mining industry, and supporters of the company’s business, but also consistently carry out responsibilities in maintaining this natural wealth.

Therefore, operations are carried out in accordance with applicable licensing and are supported by comprehensive comprehension and recovery commitment.

“We believe, utilizing this mineral resource does not mean ignoring the environment, both land and sea areas. In fact, the sea must be maintained because it has provided great benefits for Indonesia,” Maroef said in a collaboration and synergy of the Mind ID group with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Wednesday (2/7/2025).

Maroef ensured that every operation of the Mind ID group was designed with careful planning and periodic supervision, in order to prevent environmental degradation. The company is also proactive in collaboration with the Directorate General of Sea Spatial Planning KKP so that the creation of values ​​in the use of marine space and efforts to guard marine ecology is carried out sustainably.

Furthermore, Maroef said that one of the real forms of the Mind ID group’s commitment to sea preservation was through the Fishing Ground program, which aims to increase fish populations in coastal areas.

This program was realized by a decline in FAD, namely an artificial habitat that supports the increase in marine biodiversity, which in 2024, as many as 133 FADs have been deployed in the waters of Bangka Belitung Province and have had a positive impact on increasing biodiversity and long -term economic benefits for coastal communities.

In addition, the Mind ID group also implemented a mangrove planting program to maintain the balance of coastal ecosystems.

During 2024, more than 56,500 mangrove seeds have been planted in Bangka Belitung and North Sumatra Provinces.

This planted mangrove forest, not only a natural fortress of abrasion and sea water intrusion, but also an important habitat for marine life.

Meanwhile, Maroef stressed that in the context of national development, the use of sea space is a necessity. However, the Mind Id group seeks to be consistent in becoming an example of an example that industrialization that is able to continue to run an impact ecological improvement program.

On the occasion, the Director General of Sea Spatial Planning KKP Kartika Listriana explained that Indonesia has a total area of ​​6.4 million square kilometers of national jurisdiction that holds the natural wealth of marine biodiversity 8,500 species of marine mega biodiversity, 50,875 km² coral reefs, 2,935 km²

Indonesia also has 16 biosphere reserve locations and UNESCO Earth Park in coastal and sea areas. With the amount of natural resources, the value of marine economic is estimated to reach 3 to 6 trillion US dollars sourced from the wealth of resources and marine ecosystem services.

Furthermore, Kartika appreciated the Mind Id group which took the initiative to continue to strengthen synergy and collaboration with the KKP, so that it would be able to improve aspects of good company governance group Mind ID group.

“The KKP has issued 46 KKPRL approval for the Mind ID group with a total non -tax state revenue (PNBP) which paid off reached Rp165.33 billion with details of mining activities at sea, special terminals, and terminals for their own interests to support mining activities on land,” he concluded.
