Sribu Holds SRIBUFEST 2025, Helping Freelancers Survive and Grow Amidst Competition
As many as 27.4 million people work in Indonesia’s creative economy sector in 2025 according to BPS (Central Statistics Agency), absorbing 18.7% of the total national workforce.
But on the other hand, a Brookings Institution study shows that since the arrival of generative AI, freelancers in fields most exposed to this technology have experienced a 2% decline in new contracts and 5% in monthly income.
This condition emphasizes that creative workers face new pressures that are not easy, ranging from global competition, project uncertainty, to technological acceleration.
Seeing these challenges, Sribu is again presenting SRIBUFEST 2025 as a space for freelancers to strengthen their resilience, learn new strategies, and build a sustainable career amidst a rapidly changing industry.
With the theme “Survive & Thrive”, this festival is designed not only as a community gathering place, but as a growth platform for Indonesian creative workers.
“Today’s freelancers work amidst fast-paced dynamics: intermittent projects, increasingly intense competition, and ever-increasing client expectations. We present SRIBUFEST as a space to recharge energy, gain new perspectives, and find ways to survive and grow,” said Ryan Gondokusumo, CEO of Sribu.
Held on Saturday, 13 December 2025 at 13.30–16.00 WIB at CGV Grand Indonesia, SRIBUFEST 2025 comes with a more intimate format and warmer atmosphere.
This year, Sribu invited four creative figures from across fields to share strategies and experiences that are relevant to the challenges of today’s creative workers:
- Benakribo (Content Creator): Staying Relevant & Sane in Content Chaos — dissecting how creators deal with the pressures of a fast and competitive content world.
- Aryo Pamungkas (Founder of Slab Studio): Creative Resilience and Adapting Art to Uncertainty — a journey of creative resilience amidst an ever-changing design industry.
- Michelle Yap (VP Marketing Exabytes): Marketing Engine for Creative Workers — building a measurable marketing system for creative workers to grow steadily.
- Nury Zhafira (Stand Up Comedian): reflective comedy about the daily realities of freelancers and mental pressures that are often invisible.
“Through SRIBUFEST 2025, we want freelancers to go home with new hopes, not just ideas. We want them to feel they are not alone in facing this challenging industry,” continued Ryan.
Ticket sales open November 27 2025, with a special early bird price of IDR 49,000 from the normal price of IDR 149,000. With a limited quota, participants can secure tickets via sribu.in/sribufest2025.
As an annual festival, SRIBUFEST has become one of the most awaited agendas for the Indonesian freelancer community.
“If 2024 celebrates the Freelance Revolution, this year Sribu invites the community to move to the next phase: how to stay relevant, stay healthy, and keep growing in an increasingly competitive creative industry.” Ryan said.
With a combination of education, entertainment and networking, SRIBUFEST 2025 is expected to become an important space for Indonesian creative workers to strengthen their position amidst increasingly competitive industrial dynamics.
